Join us at the Experimental Station this Saturday, March 11, from 9am-2pm, at the 61st Street Farmers Market, where you enjoy the warmth of the indoors while shopping for the best locally grown foods in the region. The Market is located at 6100 S. Blackstone. Entry to the Market is through the red door on Blackstone.

You will find a great line up of farmers and vendors this Saturday! Here are some of this market day's offerings:
Ellis Family Farms will be selling six varieties of apples, frozen fruit (blueberries and tart cherries), eggs, jams, honey and maybe cider!
If you haven't eaten Tomato Mountain Farm spinach, you have not had spinach! Tomato Mountain will be selling their organically grown spinach, beets and carrots in addition to their jarred tomato salsas, soups and Bloody Mary mix.
The Urban Canopy will bring their own homegrown wheatgrass and microgreens. From Nichols Farm, they will be selling daikon radishes, purple flesh radishes, Russian blue potatoes, rutabagas, sunchokes, purple top turnips, Yukon potatoes, sweet potatoes. From River Valley Farms, they will be selling River Valley mushrooms (white button, crimini, portobello, shiitake), assorted salsas and sauces, hot sauce, and granola.
Windy City Harvest will be bringing lots of spinach and aquaponically grown lettuce and lettuce mix! Also, you will find leeks, (maybe) scallions, radishes, herbs (rosemary, basil), cookbooks, lip balm and more....
Metropolitan Farms will have tilapia this week! And, in addition to their familiar salad mix, romaine lettuce and herbs, they will be introducing some NEW products: Mini Pestos ($5 each, or a flight of 3 for $14) and Pak Choi, a delicious green similar to Bac Choi, but more tender. Pak Choi is perfect for sautéing (1 for $3, or 2 for $5).
With the warm weather, the hens at Antiquity Oaks have cranked up their production! You will find an abundance of chicken eggs and a limited quantity of duck eggs!
