Hyde Park School of Dance is holding its biennial Gala on Saturday, April 1 starting at 5:30 pm at Ida Noyes Hall, 1212 East 59th Street. The evening includes a sit-down dinner, silent auction of about 50 great items and services, a raffle – a one day, Day Tripper pass to Disney World with four free airline tickets, or an IPad mini - and an evening of dancing with music by Bopology. HSPD’s faculty, youth companies, and outreach students will perform to choreography inspired by Broadway musicals, and we will honor four of the School’s generous community partners: Hyde Park Bank, Medici on 57th, Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce, and University of Chicago Office of Civic Engagement. The Gala is a fun kid and family friendly community event. If you are interested in attending, buying raffle tickets, or making a donation either visit https://hydeparkdance.org/gala or call the School at 773-493-8498.
And if you cannot attend but are still interested in brushing up on your dancing (or learning something new), HPSD is holding free dance classes for the next two Fridays, open to all, at Studio B (basement) at First Unitarian Church, 5650 S. Woodlawn: Waltz and Polka – Friday, March 24 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM; and Salsa – Friday, March 31 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
Come join us to celebrate and support a Hyde Park cultural treasure.
