We will be singing most of the songs we will sing in Washington, DC, plus favorites such as “Can’t Help Lovin’ That Man” and “How Do I Love Thee,” and foreign-language songs, including “El Condor” (Spanish/English), “Kuimba” (Swahili), and “Akatonbo” (Japanese).

The music we will be singing in Washington is on the theme of life, liberty, and hope, such as “Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor,” “Iraqi Peace Song” (in Arabic/English), “Inscription of Hope” (text from victims of the Holocaust), Sibelius’ “Song of Peace” (in English/Zulu), “Hevenu Shalom” (Hebrew), and a swing version of “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” and “When the Saints Go Marching In.” (Did you know “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” is a freedom song from the Underground Railroad?)

We will be joined in this concert by the St. Therese Choir and special musical guests from St. Therese Church. It will be an exciting musical evening, and we hope you will be there! Free-will offering will benefit a Chinese church destroyed by a fire. This will also be your final opportunity to make a donation toward our matching grant for our trip to DC – though we will accept non-matched donations at any time!
