Update on Member Lily Fieg
Courtesy of Susan Alitto
As we shared in our July 1 message, CHPV member Lily Fieg was seriously injured from a brutal hit-and-run car attack. After weeks in intensive care and the partial amputation of both legs, Lily has now moved to long term therapy at the new Specialty Medicine Center at Rush. She is making good progress, but it is unclear whether she yet realizes the extent of her injuries. Friendly visitors are helping keep up her spirits, though she has no nearby relatives. Her only son who lives and works in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, visits as often as he can.

Until now, Lily has been very independent and not too active in Village activities so many may not know her, but she would still welcome your visit. If you have a non-serious medical appointment at Rush, please consider also visiting Lily? Please also contact CHPV if you would like to visit Lily but do not have transportation. Susan Alitto will be glad to take visitors but will be away the first week in August. She and Caecilia Hubbard have visited a few times both when Lily was still at UChicago Medicine and after she moved to Rush.

The Rush Specialty Medicine Center at 516 S. Loomis is new, impressive, and worth seeing. It's also easily accessible. Take the Eisenhower (I-290) to Ashland; left on Ashland and left again immediately onto W Congress Pkwy. The Specialty Center is a short way east on the right with a parking lot in front, although street parking is often available on Congress. View it in Google Maps.
