In Memoriam
Laura Kracke
December 13, 1941 – August 17, 2025
 
It is with a heavy heart that we share about the passing of Laura Kracke. Laura died peacefully on Sunday, August 17 with family at her side. She was a friend to many, a member of the CHPV community since its founding, and  a wonderful volunteer ambassador for CHPV's Yoga program. She will be missed. Memorial service information will be shared when available.

Join us for lunch and conversation with great friends and neighbors! Registration is only required for the optional lunch. As part of CHPV's Allison Hartman Memorial Fund, attorney Michael Bradley will be available 10:30 to 11:45 to answer your questions and provide advice about wills and trusts

Sounds Good Choir Fall 2025

Join a choir this fall and you’ll have fun learning and rehearsing a brand-new songbook of uplifting tunes. A sense of wonder and light permeates the repertoire our Sounds Good conductors have chosen. At Sounds Good choir you’ll discover a warm and supportive community of adults 55+ who love to sing. During the 15-week session, you’ll learn and rehearse an eclectic mix of seasonal choral music that will challenge and delight.

Chicago Public Library Partners with AI Safety Awareness Project for two types of workshops at various library locations throughout August: one for a general audience and another specifically designed for older adults. No prior experience or knowledge of AI is required. The AI Safety Awareness Project is a volunteer organization dedicated to raising awareness about modern AI, highlighting its benefits and risks, and informing the public on how they can contribute to AI safety. Learn more and find a date and location that works for you!
