Veterans Day
Tuesday, November 11, 2025

Chicago Hyde Park Village salutes our generations of veterans including CHPV members who served and sacrificed for our nation’s liberty. We as a community can do more to ensure our older veterans have access to the resources and connections in support of vibrant, healthy aging.

As we honor our veterans, please remember that your donation to CHPV strengthens our work in providing care, connection, and community for aging veterans and older adults across Chicago. Help us continue this mission—give today to make a difference!

Please help CHPV continue these valuable services and community connections by donating today. With your support, you’re making a difference in the lives of our neighbors.

Coping with Challenging Situations in Dementia Care with Teepa Snow

Wednesday, November 19
12–1 Central via Zoom
Free; Registration Required

Presented by Renewal Memory Partners, the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, and the Continuing Education Institute of Illinois. In the final session of our three-part webinar series, Coping With Challenging Situations in Dementia Care, Teepa Snow equips professional and family caregivers with practical tools to navigate complex behaviors and reduce distress. Using her “six pieces of the puzzle” framework, Teepa demonstrates how to assess contributing factors beyond the diagnosis and apply targeted verbal and physical techniques that foster safer, more productive interactions. These strategies are designed to support decision-making, improve outcomes, and strengthen caregiver relationships.

Medicare Open Enrollment runs from October 15 to December 7, 2025. There will be numerous changes in the enrollment process and options for next year. The Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging and the Elder Justice Coalition held an informative webinar recently to outline the changes. Watch the recording.
