Board of Directors
Committee: Membership
• In collaboration with the Communications & Member Services Committees, devise and implement campaigns to recruit new members • Develop and implement steps (e.g., personal contacts with members) to promote retention and solicit feedback on Village activities & services. • In consultation with Treasurer & Member Services Committee, make member fee adjustment recommendations to the Board.
Committee: Programs
• Coordinate Village activities • Plan and implement regular and special events including 1. Parties 2. Educational and informational program and series 3. Annual meeting 4. Luncheons • Assist Village members and groups to organize the programs and events they seek • Fund-raisers (in collaboration with development committee) • Publicize events (in collaboration with Publicity Cmte)
Committee: Organizational Affiliations
• Partnerships (Community groups; e.g., HPKCC; HP Interfaith Council, U of C Service League, Urban Health Initiative [could also be a Sponsor?], etc.) 1. Promote the Village with other community groups 2. As appropriate, participate in and support the other groups’ activities 3. Recruit community partners • Sponsorships (Businesses and NFPs primarily in businesses that serve our target population; e.g., Montgomery Place and other area retirement and continuing care facilities, U of C and its various interested departments [unless partnership is more appropriate], U of C Medicine, and other healthcare related institutions, insurance companies, financial institutions, etc.) 1. Determine levels of sponsorship support 2. Develop materials for recruiting institutional and business sponsorships (in collaboration with development cmte) 3. Recruit sponsors (in collaboration with development cmte) • Community Connections (Local business and vendors, who in exchange for their support will have access to our members on the website—and members will be able to comment on them; a kind of local Angie’s list) 1. Decide official name for this category of support 2. Set levels of support and related benefits 3. Develop promotional materials 4. Recruit participants
